Blackstone’s – one of downtown Flint’s newest destinations – is located in a 6,600-square-foot space that was once home to a men’s clothing store of the same name. It is one in a series of Uptown Reinvestment Corp. projects that are helping to re-shape the downtown area, making it a hip and vibrant community once again.
As the area’s only authentic Irish/American gastro pub, Blackstone’s is filled with history and old world charm. Owners Dave and Heather Lurvey have taken great pride in maintaining the building’s character with exposed brick walls and an original steel ceiling that soars 23 feet above a stained concrete floor. Added to the interior space are inlaid panels, cultured stone walls, historic photos, and a 46-foot mahogany bar. The exterior features more cultured stone, inlaid panels and a restoration of the original Blackstone's sign.
